Brussels Sprouts Gratin

This dish came from my idea to kind of combine scalloped potatoes and a spinach dip, but using Brussels sprouts. It came out great, and is sure to wow at your next dinner gathering! The cheese combination I used in the video included fontina, provolone, asiago, and parmesan. There’s really no “wrong” cheese to use, so feel free to experiment or use your favorites. I also use these little skillets that I had, but really any oven-safe pan or dish will work just fine. Once your Brussels sprouts gratin is out of the oven, simply top it with shallots or breadcrumbs, and get ready to impress!


Brussels sprouts
black pepper
heavy whipping cream
crispy fried shallots


Step 1

Thinly slice brussels sprouts and toss in a mixing bowl along with sliced onion and chopped garlic. Add salt, nutmeg, black pepper, and cheese of your choice. Mix together and place in an oven-friendly skillet or baking dish.

Step 2

Top with more cheese, then drizzle heavy whipping cream over the brussels sprouts. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 3

Top with crispy shallots and serve.
